As in all civilizations, we have violent criminals here.
A consuming interest as to “why” some commit violent, evil acts has become a profitable business for certain groups.
Those who profit from criminal violence include:
1) “True crime” podcasters and commentators cater to an element of our society who love the ghoulishness and novelty of violence and mayhem. These voyeurs portray criminals as “an unstoppable force in nature” as they focus on terror and gore, ignoring the subject of effective resistance.
2) “Researchers” and “crime experts,” who get plenty of government money for their endless, and endlessly inconclusive, “studies.”
3) Bureaucracies, who take our tax dollars (and our freedom) as they relentlessly grow their agencies, and justify their existence by regularly showering us with ever-new edicts, decrees, and regulations, as they simultaneously shower themselves with all manner of special privileges, and arrange it so that they themselves are not obligated to obey any of the very rules they impose upon the rest of us.
4) Legacy media, which consistently tap into “researchers,” “crime experts,” and members of the bureaucratic elite, who all predictably regurgitate identical talking points:
